This article is an obvious subject. It is a topic that everyone may have heard. But the reason for this article is to inform that there is too much difference between knowledge and human wisdom. There is a speech that everyone heard once: “A first impression is very important when you have an interview.” Yes. A first impression is the first yardstick that at a meeting with people you can judge them. However, haven’t you ever thought that your yardstick at the first impression has committed an error because of the prejudice caused by just being seen? If you are not, I hope that you could feel how different between just putting knowledge in your head and keeping it in one’s heard sincerely.

The following movies are stories related to people who may receive biased first impression: they are people, called disabled person, who have discomfort and people who have just different colors of skin. The movies point out sharply people’s stereotype.

The Movie ‘Oasis’

“Hey, are you a sexual pervert? Do you really want to have a sex with such a girl?” Sul Kyung-Gu has sex after falling in love with Mun So-Ry suffering from cerebral palsy. However her family catch sight of it, and they report to police saying that he raped her. The first sentence is from the police who

questioned to Sul Kyung-Gu. Could it be justified only as story of the movie? In reality, in our conversation, in our action, aren’t there any unconditional prejudice for people with having discomfort? (In this article, ‘disabled person’ is expressed as a person who has discomfort) Many people regard them as people who need to be cared for. And they are expressed as ‘those people’ not ‘we.' They just want to live in the same community called ‘we.' It is a tiny desire as well as big hope. You have to think about which you have made fun of them with prejudice or not, when you have a communication with friends. You have to think about which you watch them strangely or not.

The movie 'Bandhobi

The movie shows process which an immigrant worker 'Karim' and a high school student 'Min-Seo' are being friend. There is a scene that Karim lets her take a seat beside him in the bus, but she is ignored. Also there is a scene that she approached to White person with good feeling, but she attacks the White person's sex organ because she heard the White person belittl Korean woman.

This movie frankly shows the dual perspective of our society between White people being perceived as a powerful 'nation' and the Southeast Asian person being perceived as weak 'nation.' When you see a person with a different color of skin compared with yourself, do you go pass without anything else or do you stare carefully? If you have made a wall about somebody just from first impression 'different color of skin,' even if we are all same people, you have to think about it.

Through two movies, the writer goes over a deep-rooted prejudice of Korean society toward people who have discomfort and a different color of skin. This current writer also had a bias against them. However I realized how shameful I have a narrow viewpoint as the university student from the two movies. There is a big difference between just putting knowledge and keeping it in one’s head sincerely. I think we can lesson the gap of prejudice if we keep in mind that they are also same people and it can be echoed not just in our head but in our heart. There may be refutation that this article is a prejudice itself. However beyond the wasteful dispute, the writer wishes that someone could think about how I look at them and could implant true value in their heart. The first impression. It is a mirror of inner side. Being different is not wrong.
