What is it again? What makes you so displeased? If you've got something to say, talk to me openly. I make a phone call because I miss you dreadfully and then I said 'Do you love me?' 'I'm so busy' a lazy voice replied. We need to talk. We are caught short of talk. The following is a passage from 'Need to Talk' of the singer Plum. In the dictionary, talk is a form of give-and-take. The word is to be noted here that give-and-take. If either one does not open the door of communication, dialogue will not happen. Conversation always takes a place when a family determines to go out and choose the menu and people consult with a friend about the matter and people try to win his or her heart when they go on a blind date. A family can enjoy their delicious meal happily, people can find a solution to their problem, people can make him or her own at a blind date through sincere talk. How about the other side? Like this, talks help to make each other understand and mediate differences of ones opinions.  The same situation applies to school. Talk between a school and student, a student council and a student also perform an important role in our university. Now, how is the talk between school and student going well in Dankook University? This herald focus on how student's talk can  engage with our university.
School and Student Council
First, Jukjeon campus collects student's personal opinion through 'Woongseong Woongseong,' bulletin board on the school homepage. Besides, the student council of each college collects student's opinions and then passes on their opinions to the student council. There are many times students inquire some matters to student affairs section directly. Woo-Seong Jeong, manager of the student affairs section said "There are unexpectedly many times students make a call or visit to student affairs section directly" Especially as a freshman, they don't know how to inquire their curiosity or suggestion. In this case, we solve the problems that can solve within the student affairs section as soon as possible. If we receive problems that they can't solve within the student affairs section, we help them by connecting them with a different department." Actually, the student affairs section installs a PC for issuing certification of registration to consult student's convenience. And student's opinion were actually reflected in the school policies. For example, school shuttle bus stop area was changed and our university invited vaccination of cervical cancer follow by student's opinion.
Cheonan campus also collects students' opinions through 'Woongseong Woongseong,' bulletin board on the school's homepage and the student council. Ja-Kyun Hong, staff of student affair section said "it is not for personal convenience for the public interest and reasonable as well as feasible opinions are accepted and reflected," "Schools have added additional school commute buses and school shuttle buses running with greater frequency and installed a banister at the School of Law for safety's sake and plan to remodel a medical college in accordance with the students' opinion. The school plans to add a new CCTV to keep public order and install an LED sign board instead of banner at each college.
Besides, our school operates Twitter and Facebook in both campuses. Our school communicates well with each other in real time through Social Networks(SNS) operated by 'Nalgaedandae', ambassador for students. Through SNS, we make steady and persistent effort by passing on headlines to our student and  listening to our student's voice.
The student council collects student's opinions through 'Ask something to a senior,' 'Write as you want,' bulletin board in cyworld club. The student council also plans to install a suggestion box 'sound of mind'

Students
However, what students feel seem different from what the school thinks. According to the poll DKH holds, many students feel discomfort or think that there are things to be improved. The lack of a school bus route and the shortage of a school shuttle bus took the majority of student's opinion. Also, repairmen of school’s facility and needs of specifying the smoking areas were told. In addition, some asked for the free school bus circulating inside of the campus. However, despite of students having these ideas, only few students suggested these ideas to the student council. Most students suggested their ideas through the free board at the school website, and half of the students replied that they are not satisfied with the answer of improvement in the poll. They said, “I got a replying answer but it seems that they had not put my idea into action. As the reason for not suggesting that idea, most students said “I don’t know how and where to do it.” A freshman said, “It’s been three month since I entered DKU, but I think that I have never heard any specific explanation.” More than half of the students think that the communication between the school and students. Also, the majority of the students replied that the school needs to post what, where, when, to do. In addition, students suggested that the student council set a way of suggestion and ask students what they think directly and regularly.
One side says that the communication works well and the other says the opposite which proves that the communication is not working well. The school should stand on the students’ side and consider what they really want. Students also need to stand up and speak up what they want, not just complaining. Students are asking for a system which helps students to suggest their idea regularly, without knowing that the system already exists. Also, the student council which relates the school and students should focus on their role. As mentioned, communication means give and take. Communications won’t work if any of them are missing. The council should suggest the discomfort that students have as they are representing ten thousand students. We are now living in the century of the telephone, the Internet and SNS communicating with DKU easily. This is the way that DKU should aim and what would improve in DKU.
