Tae-Hwan Park(Dept. of Physical Education, Junior) won the 100m, 200m, 400m Freestyle in the Guangzhou Asian Games, and he became a triple gold medalist. Tae-Hwan Park when he was third year student in middles school was selected for the national team in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He won a gold medal in the 400m Freestyle against Australian Grant Hackett in the world swimming championships in Melbourne, Australia
in 2007. And he became a world class swimmer though 2008 Olympics in Beijing
as he won a gold medal in the 400m Freestyle and a silver medal in the 200m Freestyle. However, Tae-Hwan Park suffered pain because he failed to get into the finals in all events in the last swimming championships in Rome but he revived his fortunes in the Asian Games in Guangzhou. Especially, in the 200m Freestyle Tae-Hwan Park finished at
01:44:80 and made a new Asian record. Also he won silver medals in the 1500m
Freestyle and in the 400m Freestyle Relay and bronze medals in the 400m and 800m Freestyle relay so that he won a total of seven medals(three gold medals, two silver medals, two bronze medals). Now Tae-Hwan Park hopes for gold medals in the Olympics in London over the Guangzhou Asian Games. The whole Korea hope for his brilliant
exploits in the London Olympics.
