On June 16, the Mongolia Vice-Speaker, Radenasuberel Gonchigedorezi,
awarded the Polestar Order to The Chancellor of Dankook University (DKU)
Jang Ho-sung in a ceremony at the Mongolia Embassy. This is primarily due to
the fact that DKU opened the Department of Mongolian Studies, a first of its kind in Korea. It has managed the department since 1993. Under the guidance of Chancellor Chang Ho-sung, DKU increased the capacity of the Mongolia language and has partnered with four Mongolian universities, thus creating a solid environment for growing future exchanges. With the establishment of a Mongolian laboratory on campus, Dankook University has progressed quickly in the field of editing work, developed the largest Mongolian- Korean Dictionary, a DKU/Mongolian volunteer group established to handle charitable services. Mongolian residents and the governments of both nations have responded positively to this work.
