On Nov. 12, the Election Commission of the Permanent Committee held a student election for the independent student organization for the year 2015 at the Cheonan Campus. The results of the election were announced on Nov. 13. As a result, Ham Yong-cheol (junior, Dept. of Business Administration Major) was chosen as President and Lee Jong-hyeok (junior, Dept. of English Languages) as Vice-President of the Student Council. Also, any candidate who had no one oppose them were elected by default. The Dankook Herald interviewed Yong-cheol Ham. He said “It was sad because almost all Dankookians communicate online or through SNS’s. It made it hard for us to communicate with them directly. So we would like to expand the opportunities we have to talk with many students.” Then he added that he would like to cooperate with
and work in harmony with the student body.
At the Jukjeon Campus, the winning candidate was supported by the BOM election campaign head office. Their main candidate was Jung Ung (senior, Dept of law), and substitute candidate was Moon Byung-chul (junior, Dept of Accounting). The candidate that came second was supported by the Dugeun Dugeun life election campaign head office. Their main candidate was Moon Jong-hyeon (junior, Dept of Performance and film), and substitute candidate was Park Ji-eun (sophomore, Dept of counseling). From Nov. 25 to 27, elections will take place through voting booths located outside all of the colleges.
