On Oct. 1 2016, Cheonan Heungtaryeong Festival was held from 6p.m. to 10p.m. All roads were controlled by police. Because this event was performed on the road from Cheonan elementary school to intersection of Cheonan express terminal. Dankook University (DKU) took part in the festival including 38 teams from other universities’ students, kids and foreigners. International teams were composed of people from Japan, China, Russia and other 17 countries.
DKU’s team is included of 150 students and they showed audiences very wonderful performance such as Nanta, choreography of taekwondo, Korean traditional dance and cheerleading. Especially, a big dragon made by students in College of Arts is symbol of Cheonan. Huge and fancy dragon surprised and impressed audiences. And it even made the performance look magnificent. All citizens of Cheonan became one and people encouraged all teams by applause and shouting.
DKU got the grand prize and 7,000,000 won. Prof. Choi Eun-yong who directed the whole performance said, “My goal was making participants and audiences enjoy and communicate together through the performance. All students did their best and I appreciate them.”
