As one of the celebration events for 70th anniversary of Dankook University, College of Music has planned a week of music festival. DKU Music Festival is even more special in that because it is aimed at integration of DKU into the local society. DKU alumni starred the first night of festival, on October 23, Monday. Experienced musicians entertained the audience with familiar classical music such as Fantasy on theme from Bizet’s Carmen and Gershwin’s Portrait for 4 Trombone. The audience also did not hesitate to express their excitement. The audience gave a big applause when Baritone Park Jin-su performed as the first vocalist and even participated in the show as shouting out exclamations corresponding to samulnori performance, a Korean traditional percussion quartet. DKU Music Festival will be proceeding on until October 27, Thursday and closing the curtains with a grand orchestra night on November 8, Wednesday.
