This year, 2017 has been a very special year for Dankook University (DKU) and not a single month throughout this year has been merrier than November. On 9th November, Dankook 70th Anniversary Celebration Dance Performance has been held in Yongin Poeun Art Hall near Jukjeon station. The College of Dance, which is one of the most representative departments of DKU, planned and hosted this event with the collective effort of the schools’ instructors, professors and the students themselves. The people present were mostly dankookians (students of DKU) and their family, as well as other special guests invited by the university.

The genres performed in this performance are ballet, contemporary dance and traditional Korean dance. The whole performance has been very captivating and well composed. Since the beginning of the show, every audience welcomed players with great expectation and would never simply leave their seats. A very impressive traditional Korean dance brought a wonderful ending to the dance performance.

Since 1947, DKU has been advancing forward to provide quality education to the people and all these 70 years we have seen the efforts of the university are almost in the stage of fruition. However, we look forward to seeing the path which lies ahead of DKU and that it will become a widely appraised institution within or even outside of the country. Especially, a number of international students were also present and there are a few performers who are in fact international students. It seems that the university’s internationalization does not only limit to the school’s education, but also includes the schools’ many afterschool events.
