On November 24, 2017, Jeon Byung-jae (Dept. of Science Education) and Hong Soo-yeon (Dept. of Law) were elected as a president and a vice president for 50th Student Council in Jukjeon Campus of Dankook University (DKU). To be valid election, voting rate of this election must exceed 33.3%. One the final day of the election, 23 November, voting rate was lower than 33.3% (32.4%). Therefore, the Election Committee extended voting period for a day to 24. As a result, total voting rate of this election was higher than mandatory voting rate (33.94%). Additionally, 77.98% of voters voted yes and 17.9% of voters voted no to the election.

In the interview directly after the election, Jeon Byung-jae, elected president of Student Council of DKU said, “I never forget our first time of the election, and I promise that we will go forward with all Dankookians (students of DKU).” Moreover, Hong Soo-yeon greeted Dankookians and stated “we will keep our promises made by hearing voices of Dankookians and we will make new changes.” From 2018, the 50th ‘SOL’ Student Council of DKU will be established, as new representatives of Dankookians.
