8th of March is an important day, for it is a day that commemorates the women’s rights movement, International Women’s Day. On this very special day, Dankook University (DKU) invited a famous feminism movement activist and writer, Lee Min-gyeong to share a lesson about the importance of feminism and gender equality. The seminar was held in the International Hall.

Lee shared her experience and opinion about women’s activities in Korea. She first started off with the statement, ’#Metoo has arrived in Korea.’ Then, she talked about the time when she was in feminists’ activities. She spent about 15minutes talking, and then moved on to a Q&A session where she let the students to write down their enquiries about feminism and she would answer them accordingly.
A lot of participants, and the Dankook Herald (DKH) could get to see importance to build more changes in term of the gender equality. Not that men and women can be same, but that women can also deserve the right to do anything as men did.
