▲ Thomas Bach received a honorary doctorate in Political Science from DKU.

 9th of March, 2018, there was conferment ceremony for Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was held at the Nanpa Concert Hall of Dankook University (DKU), in Jukjeon Campus. DKU Grad Committee decided to give hime an Honorary Doctorate in Political Science for his career as the president of the IOC and his contribution to international sports and global peace. For such reasons, his experiences fit DKU’s main moto, “truth and community service”. A lot of people participated in the ceremony, especially Ban ki-moon, the former secretary general of the United Nations, visited and delivered congratulatory speech for Thomas Bach. The conferment ceremony was completed by acceptance address of Bach that said, “Thank you for this great honor and let us continue to promote the values of sport together.”
