On the 7th of April, Dankook University (DKU) announced to have a specially organized opportunity for foreign students in the school to get involved in different kind of voluntary activities with the cooperation with Yong-in Western Police Station. All international Dankookians (students of DKU) including those who are currently in the language course are welcomed to join the event.

Global Talent Network (GTN) led the students to patrol around the university. The first activity was held on the 17th of April, Tuesday, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Also, Dankookians are brought to the House of Sharing twice a year to visit the Japanese Sexual Slavery Victims. They participated in different kind of voluntary works such as cleaning the house, chatting with the old folks and many more.

The reason why this kind of voluntary activities are conducted for students to join is because the school hopes that the students can learn something from performing these kinds of services. The school believes that it will not only allow the students to understand more about the culture and history of Korea, it will also become a meaningful memory for students who are studying abroad to have such a special opportunity. Mr. Jung Wook-Seok, one of DKU faculty who devised Woori-Pol, said “I hope that through this activity, students can help people who face difficulties and make new friends”. The world should be surrounded with love and care, and thus DKU wants to hold this kind of activities, hoping to let the students know how to spread love around.
