National Folk Museum of Korea and Seok Juseon Memorial Museum of Dankook University (DKU) held a Co-Exhibition named Love Made with All Parents’ Heart, Traditional Children’s Clothing to commemorate May, the month of family. The Co-Exhibition takes place in 4th exhibition in Sack Juseon Memorial Museum of DKU from May 4 to July 13, from 10 - 4PM and closed on Sundays.
The exhibition divided into 3 parts. The 1st part is Bacekkop-jumeoni (placenta pouch) and Baenaet-jeogori (infant’s jacket). These clothes are made for babies to keep their temperature. Also, Korean mothers made it to pray their babies for their health and longevity. The 2nd part is Obangjang-durumagi (overcoat of five directions). It is for 1-6 year old kids and contains colorful colors to remove the negative and bad lucks. The last part is Dopo and Jangot. After children become 7 years old, they are considered small adult, so they wear like an adult.
