The Dankook Human Resources Academy 8th held a special lecture, does AI make our life happier, for Dankookians (Students of Dankook University) on November 2, 2018. Mr. Kim Guang-sik who attended the Graduate School of Philosophy at Seoul University and currently is a lecturer at Seoul University was the professor who in charge of this lecture and there were 2 students named Kang Min-ho and Lee Chang-hyun who prepared a presentation for this lecture. Prof. Kim recommended a book called “Homo Deus” by Yuval Noah Harari which is a book that examines what might happen to the world when old myths are coupled with new godlike technologies, such as artificial intelligence and genetic engineering.

During the presentation, Kang and Lee briefly talk about the introduction of artificial intelligence, some case studies and their thought of AI. The presentation ended up with answering the question asked by students. Besides, there was a 30 minutes’ discussion for students to share their own opinions and make a conclusion for the lecture.

It was a detailed and thoughtful perspective to offer on the topic. Students have chances to know more about artificial intelligence, the pros, and cons about it and why do they even exist.
