Last November 22nd, there was a special lecture by Hong Jin-wook, the chief of African and Middle Eastern Affairs Bureau in Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Graduate School. He made a lecture about Middle East’s prospect of situation and the United States of America’s public policy toward Middle East after released of Iran sanctions.
Mr. Hong is an expert about Korea’s policies toward Middle East. He explained about what the Middle Eastern Affairs Bureau in Ministry of Foreign Affairs does and how it works. Also, He wanted to show how much the ministry is working hard to strengthen relationships between Korea and Middle East countries. Also, since Iran, which is included in Middle East region, has been sanctioned, students from Iran who are studying in Korea can feel discriminated and have some inconveniences. Mr. Hong said departures of the Ministry highly aware the point and is trying to help them not become excluded from the society.
Mr. Hong explicated how international situations will be changed in Korea and Middle East. Also, he wanted Dankookians (Students of Dankook University) to remember that Middle Eastern students around the campus can have many harsh points and hope Dankookians to help them a lot.
