On September 17, there was a Lecture of Professor Wakao Misaki, who is the professor of the Hitotsubashi University. The lecture was hosted by ‘The Transition of Knowledge Power and East Asian Humanities’ and sponsored by Dankook University. The subject of the lecture was politics, society, and individuals of Cheondo in modern times of Japan. The main topic of the lecre was the meaning of Cheondo. To take a look at this, he began introducing the theory of Takashi Mizubayashi and then developed the depth to the background of Cheondo. Finally, Professor Misaki Wakao concluded that the media is also very important to think about the modern society of the country on its historical and social role.
This lecture was very helpful in understanding Japan’s current social status. Just as the word ‘Shame to the otentosama(sky)’ remains in modern times, Cheondo played a big role in the formation of people’s thoughts in Japan. By understanding the Cheondo, people finally can understand Japan. Also, it taught us once again the importance of future media and its distribution processes.
