Dankook University (DKU) offers a comprehensive range of support facilities and systems for disabled students that far exceed expectations. The university has taken great strides in ensuring an inclusive environment for all students.

DKU has made provisions for wheelchair accessibility throughout its campus. The dormitory entrance, specifically designed to accommodate wheelchairs, features a generously wide pathway. There are also ramp stairs and sidewalk blocks throughout the humanities center and buildings so that students in wheelchairs transfer with ease. In addition, there are many braille sidewalk blocks throughout the building, serving as tactile guides for students who have difficulty securing visibility to move without difficulty. Even ATMs on campus have been equipped with braille and large font options, ensuring that individuals with poor eyesight can conveniently utilize these facilities To further cater to the needs of disabled students, a designated parking lot has been allocated for their use. Finally, toilets equipped with rods for disabled students are available, with some buildings featuring such facilities on each floor.

In addition to these extensive physical accommodations, DKU operates various support systems tailored to the needs of disabled students. One notable system is a dormitory helper for the disabled(life support work). It is a system that helps students with disabilities live in their living arrangements, facilitating a smooth and comfortable dormitory experience. The mobility assistance system (mobile support labor system) ensures that disabled students can safely move their way to classes with the aid of support personnel. Lastly, the disabled student learning helper(learning support helper) system offers invaluable support by taking detailed notes during classes and helping with learning activities. These helpers not only relay essential information and assignments to students with disabilities but also act as their stepping-stone during discussions, group projects, and presentation classes.

It is important to note that all of these support systems can be accessed upon request or notification. Therefore, the university encourages active participation and interest from both disabled students and the wider community. By fostering an inclusive environment and promoting awareness, DKU aims to create a truly equal and supportive educational setting for all its students.
