Have you ever dreamed about travel around the world? Spread a map, have in mind the place to visit, make the plan to travel¡¥¡¥. There are a lot of enthusiastic university students who are making the plan looking around the world and travelling with their youth. We interviewed Dankookians about their winter vacation plan,  overseas experiences and their advice. We also interviewed the people who are going through various experiences in the world.

The story of Won-Seok Kim who is going to take trip Europe (Dept. of Economics)
Let's hit the road. The only people who have traveled abroad could know the happiness of travel.

When I was english course in Australia around one year and I realized "I was a frog in a small pond." So I decided to extend my knowledge with travel and made a plan. From childhood, my father has said to me: "There's nothing as good as  experience in the world." I believe that travel is the best way as experience. So I made a plan to travel.

This coming winter, I'm going to visit Turkey, Italy and Swiss. The travel will last three weeks and the cost would be three million won including plane ticket. I planned the period of travel in Turkey longer than in other countries because of its mixed culture of the West and the East. I'm sure it will extend my knowledge and that's why I planned travel in Turkey longer than other places. I chose the route like this: Istanbul - Kapadokya – Pamukkale – Selcuk - Istanbul. Then, I'll move to Italy and travel for several days. And for the rest days of the travel, I'll stay in Swiss. Actually, I am specially looking forward to this travel because it will be the first travel with my sister. We'll make a plan, buy plane tickets, and book a youth hostel without any travel agent's help. We may depend on each other going through the difficulties during the travel. I wish this trip to be a chance to look back myself.

The story of Yeoun-Jin Bae planning Japan and Germany trip (Dept. of Electronics Engineering)
- Please Experience getting valuable things for yourself.

This winter, I have two plans to trip to Japan and Germany. I'm going to visit Japan in January and Germany in February. The beginning of this trip is to meet my friends in England whom I know. I miss them because they have treated me with their whole heart. I'll stay at friend's home while traveling. So I'm planning the expense, to a maximum of about two million won or so. During my trip to Japan trip, I'll visit the snow festival with my friends and enjoy Japanese winter. In Germany, I'll taste German sausage and beer with my friends. I am looking forward to the time with my friends and it will be great. I wish to get to know precious people, various experiences and chances to grow myself again as I did in my last trip

The story of Dong-Kyun Go who is volunteering in Tunisia now (Dept. of International Trade)

I have wanted to do a worthwhile job, overseas volunteering. And I found Korea International Cooperation Agency. When I decided to volunteer, I hesitated because two years seemed very long for me. But I thought that in a broad view, with wisdom I could get there, I could  help many people there, so I felt the term short at the thought of many those merits. From the appliance, I didn't expect to be comfort. So I chose Tunisia, one of the African countries where it is hard to work.

Many people guess, “It is hard to do voluntary work in Africa.” I think it is not hard at all because I didn’t experience all of hard works in Korea. With this thought, I became happier than before.
Now I teach children how to use computer in French. Actually I cannot give the lecture at high level because of language. But I'm preparing to better lecture with receiving help from French tutors. And I spend my spare time with the local residents. The abroad volunteer's mission includes informing of Korea, I think. This is the only chance in lifetime to live for others! Isn't it?
