1. DKU froze tuition fee

   

Last January, DKU froze the tuition again. This will have been their second in which tuition has stayed consistent. In relation to this decision, Ho-Sung Chang, the president of DKU¡¡stated, "We made this decision because we could not ignore the sharp decline in the economy and youth unemployment." He added, "Even though we froze the tuition, we will continue to invest in the development of the school. We will expand the opportunities for scholarships, and continue to develop the pharmacy program." Meanwhile, student representatives of both campuses who participated this conference said, "We promise that we will take part in the budget reductions which DKU conducts, and we will make a campaign about energy conservation."

2. Jin-Hwan Jung, sitting at the top in the 'National Dentistry Examination' 

Jin-Hwan Jung (Dept. of Dentistry) was at the top in the 'National Dentistry Examination.' DKU also has a 98.8% pass rate in this examination. In addition, the Dept. of Medicine and the Dept. of Nursing has recorded a passing rate of 96.2 % and 100% respectively. As a result, DKU placed third in the employment rate in the health care field amongst four-year colleges.

 

3. One-Stop Support Center was held in Dankook University Hospital

   

One-Stop Support Center for female victims and victims who were assaulted in school was held in Dankook University Hospital (DKUH). There were female police officers, counselors and nurses for victims in DKUH. Also, DKUH offered counseling service, medical treatment and investigations at one place. Dankook University Dental Hospital(DUDL) was chosen as the second care center from Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs.

4. Park Tae-Hwan won three gold medals in the New South Wales State Open Championships in Sydney

From February 12th-14th, Park Tae-Hwan (Dept. of Physical Education) won gold medals in the men's 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle swimming competition in succession. Through this competition, Park overcame his slump from the 'Rome Swimming World Championship.' Park Tae-Hwan stated, "I participated in this competition for overseas training, but my results were better than I expect. I especially I enjoyed working with my new coach, Michael Bohl, who really helped me. I regain my joy for swimming through his methods.”
