Are you among the viewers of the popular drama, Chuno? If yes, you may know that Chuno was under pressure due to its controversial suggestive sexual content. In almost every single episode, the male actors show us their bodies, having viewers dazed at their so-called ‘Six packs.’ There was another issue that was made a controversy with the drama, which was the mosaic on the actress' breast. While the six packs on the male bodies are widely visible and catches the viewer’s eyes, the mosaic on the female bodies are more protected and censored. A comment on the web site stating that it is reverse discrimination was what started a controversy; but it did not end there with the show’s reverse discrimination. Everybody finds their manliness and macho appealing by looking at their muscles and body on television. They offer female guests to touch their body. Even a show that raises healthy men in their twenties as a human pet on the cable TV. Oh! How much Korea has changed in a such a short time. The Dankook Herald, had a time of reflection to think whether this change is pointing in right direction or decide if we’re becoming lost.

Through a conversation with 5 junior students in the College of Human Science, Bio-Resources Science, and Sports Science at the Cheonan campus, we could listen to their opinions. They didn’t hesitate to speak up such reality. They found ‘The Ministry of Gender Equality(MGE) that has showed sensitive response against discrimination’ responsible. They believed the rumors in the air saying "MGE protested against buying snack 'Jollypong' and car 'Sonata3.' The reason is because they look a lot like the sexual organs of both men and women. That is crazy. But we can’t deny that many people are pointing out the negative things of MGE. They criticized the society of Korea itself that is ‘Not chauvinism but female one’ and ‘The lost society more than equality of the sexes.' And they pointed out the resting room only for female students in Cheonan campus and Sunhwa-Dang in Jukjeon campus saying that "We can find reverse discrimination around us easily." There is no place for male students to rest while female students have. That is right. one of most frequent complaints in the Woong-sung woong-sung is that.

Then, how are we supposed to notice reverse discrimination around us? General manager of 25th general female students association, Min-sun Jung made objection against men’s opinion of "There are a lot of reasons for women to need resting rooms," explaining the necessity of women’s biological fact. "They have to understand over the biological pain of women. At this point, women’s restroom would be the most comfortable place for them. There is no men, so they can rest comfortably." In addition, she complained about the prejudices made by male chauvinism like the patriarchal system that have put women in a tough situation. "Suppose a man interviews for a nurse position, typically he has a disadvantage because of his gender, which makes it sex discrimination. But making more women’s toilet on the highway because of biological traits of women is a social consideration of difference between both sexes. Therefore, resting room for female students is not a discrimination," she said.

Women who can give birth were the main body of making labor power in the past, giving them an important role in society. But they thought that with a difference not a discrimination. So they did their best in their position. We, The Dankook Herald, will go back to the past on this long lost road. And we will see this again with a point of view that does not discuss on the superiority of one’s sex through cooperation and support with each other. The day we can live in equality and in happiness between the two sexes will someday come with the words of a famous CF, "Concede difference. But challenge differentiation."
