▲ The music explainer is mentioning a great German composer, Brahms after playing one of his famous pieces, Hungarian Dances.

On the 15th of March, the first concert with a brief explanation was held at the Music Concert Hall. It included various concerts such as playing the piano and the violin and singing famous opera songs such as ‘Brindisi’ from Verdi’s La traviata and ‘Long Song’ from Chun Hyang Jeon(the first Korean opera) by Hyun Jae-myung. The purpose of this concert was to let students understand and approach classical music easier.

To be specific, after two professors from College of Music played a famous piece of classical music called Hungarian Dances No.1 and No.5 by Brahms, a music explainer gave a brief explanation of the composer and the music. For example, she explained that Brahms, along with Bach and Beethoven, is a composer who was praised as one of Germany’s top three composers. This Hungarian Dances is one of the most favored classical pieces by people today, especially the first and fifth are played most often due to lyrical and familiar melodies. Besides, Le Grand Tango by Piazzolla and Ballade No.1 by Chopin were also played.

From this concert, the students of Dankook University were able to learn some classical music and enjoy it with vast experiences.
