Currently, Dankook University (DKU) is taking the campus name using the area where the campus is located, Jukjeon Campus and Cheonan Campus. However, major domestic universities have separate brand names that indicate the university’s direction or characteristics to enhance the university’s brand value. DKU recognized the need to revise the campus name to reflect its unique specialization, so in response, DKU surveyed the necessity of establishing a campus brand name. According to the result, 64.7% of respondents agreed that brand naming is necessary.

Following the survey, DKU held a campus branding naming idea contest. The goal was to generate names that effectively represent DKU's unique strengths, future vision, and strategic path forward. The brand naming idea contest received 370 names for the Jukjeon Campus and 371 for the Cheonan Campus. The names of the campuses selected through the first review are as follows:

Jukjeon Campus

Cheonan Campus

DASAN Campus

Masters Campus

Centennial Campus

Medi-Bio Campus

ICT(Information Technology & Culture Technology) Campus

BT+Medical+Local Campus

IT-Smart Campus

BT Global(Bio Technology & Global) Campus

21st Century Campus

NSUS Campus

Jinri Campus

WINNERS Campus

Toegye Campus

Yulgok Campus

DKU has dropped a brand naming preference survey to choose a brand name that reflects the preferences of its members from April 23 to May 3. You can visit the DKU portal site for the official notice to cast your vote. The notice contains a link to a Google Form in which you can review detailed explanations for each proposed name. Remember, you can only vote for one preferred name per campus.

Your vote on the new campus brand name is a great opportunity to shape the identity and future of our school. The Dankook Herald (DKH) encourages all Dankookians (Students of DKU) and faculty members to actively participate in this crucial vote and share your valuable perspectives through your votes.
