¢º Members of the 27th student council. How much do you know about their goal?
"We' will gain students' trust slightly and slowly." It's the remark of president of student council, Jung-Moo Ryu(Dept. of Environmental Economics, senior). The 27th student council is about to take a step. They handed the 26th student council's baton. DKH interviewed with them and pick up about their 2011 goal.
As many students know, this semester's tuition fee is increased by 3.3 percents. The president of student council, Ryu talked about it first, "As tuition fee is increased, we'll enlarge scholarship extent. It's not just under students' grades, but according to individual's talent such as JLPT(Japanese-Language Proficiency Test). Also, we'll provide help to families in crisis situations like foot-and-mouth disease." He said about the percentage of employment that lots of students are interested in a little. But he said we will focus on not about increasing employment rate but about improving 'satisfaction of employment dankookians feel.' "We will revitalize trial interview. In the second floor of Students Hall, school magazine editorial room is under construction. We'll use there for a seminar room that students will be able to practice their trial interview. Also, the president of student council, Ryu showed a bold attitude about the retry of last student council's failed pledge. He said firmly with strong will, "Last year, pledge about surrounding communities' price reduction  was failed. We are going to do our best from the last failure."
Their primary goal is 'Public Relations(PR) about benefits.' Ryu said, "We will try to inform students scolarship, TOEIC support fund system and trial TOEIC test etc," "DKU pumps its budget into these activities, however many students don't know about it. We'll promote these intensively. We would rather distribute printed materials of promote at bus stop than using university official web site, Woong-sung Woong-sung.
At last, he said, "Actually, students are weak in faith to us. We'll break existing student council's formal image and serve for students. We want to change university that all together." Student council wishes to gain students' trust. But honestly, students showed no interest in them. As they are our representative, we need to watch and care about them. So, let's keep an eye on their forward step!¡¡
