On April 13, a Law School Guest Lecture was held at Jukjeon Campus. Jae-Hyung Kim (Professor, Seoul National University Law School) explained about the criteria for evaluating law schools, and mentioned about the importance of library facilities and curriculum for both students and professors.
Jae-Hyung Kim (Professor, Seoul National University Law School) was invited a law school lecture.
"Regarding library facilities, not only an audit of the library facilities is needed, but the law library should have more than 100 categories of books designated," explained Kim. "In addition, whether or not a law school is requiring rigorous research standards and keeping professors' lecture hours above six per week should be verified."
About educational support, the criterion was whether the annually supported benefit per student is over 40 million won or not, but recently the standard has been eased to 30 million won.
By August 20, each law school is supposed to organize an assessing committee and submit a self-assessed report. In September a regional inspecting group will assess each law school's documentation. Finally, auditors will run a final inspection, and the results will be announced on each law school's homepage.
