Do you think of yourself as an outsider?

According to the survey conducted by one employment portal site, about
30% of university students answered ‘Yes, I do.’ Is this good or bad?
The outsiders; If you are or were a university student, you’ve surely heard of it. You may have felt sorry for them because you know who they are. However this word is changing its meaning as the aim of university changed from getting knowledge to being employed.

The competition is still high among senior students who graduate soon these days juniors are also included. You have to prove yourself as a man with better abilities than others on the applications and to the interviewers. All the good grades and foreign language skills and internship experiences are essential and several certificates are the must-have items. This reality tortures them.

However, not everyone does. Whatever this reality is right or not, some students are walking in fast steps with it. They are the outsiders we ignored. They have volunteered to become outsiders in a pursuit of success(Of course some are still the past-outsiders who are futureless and lonely.)

These people don’t care about MT which altered its M from Membership to Masochism of alcohol and are interested in building up their own careers and abilities. When the spare time remains, instead of chatting with their friends, they study English. In February and June they make timetable for the next semester without their friends opinion, they put what they want to listen in the timetable. They also visit job-opening center and library in school rather than searching the internet article about top celebrities wedding or downloading the beta test file of new games. On the contrary, outsiders click the volunteering service and applying company’s internship more, to fill in their application. Moreover, they get along well their professors better than other students.

People think they are not socialized but since the world has changed, people could meet diverse people through diverse roots, such as using internet blogs, association and online communities though.

We could find the fundamental reason for this from the society. Unemployment rate is getting higher and because people are used to being alone, more people intend to do so.
