On April 16, Dankook University (DKU) students were rewarded for their hard work at the 8th International Design Awards. Two of our three award winner got second prize and one got third prize in IDA student’s league. IDA is a global design contest held annually in the US, by Farmani Group and the winners of
the International Design Award. They are selected by an independent jury composed of well-established personalities with a background in the field of furniture design. Only students who are interested in design can participate in the contest.
Na Sang-wook (Sophomore, Dept. of Visual Communication Design) designed a logo that combined the Facebook logo with a fish hook in order to warn people about the dangers of social networking services. Kim Seong-soo (Sophomore, Dept. of Visual Communication Design) designed an ace of spades playing card integrated with a peace symbol, saying he designed the logo to acknowledge that peace is the best option for mankind. He also said this prize will motivate him to work harder in the field of design. Lee Jeong-min (Junior, Dept. of Visual Communication Design) created a design which used the letters in the word ‘war’ to create a sad face, emphasizing the emotion of human suffering in times of war.
