As the second semester at Dankook University (DKU) comes to an end, many Dankookians (Students of DKU) are planning to travel abroad. To help them navigate the cultural nuances of their journeys, the Liberal Arts College and Character Development Center are hosting the 2023-2 Tips for DKU students traveling to the U.S.A. program. This online program will run until January 5, 2024.
Instilled as a DKU Innovation Support Project, this program aims to foster global etiquette and personal growth among participants. To participate, you can apply for the program through the Youngê¨ Story and take an online lecture from E-campus. The program consists of five key areas; Diversity, Personal Space, Dining Etiquette, Tipping and Tax, and Useful Expression. It includes an hour-long online lecture that covers essential aspects of cultural diversity, maintaining personal space during conversations, tipping etiquette, and practical expressions for everyday interactions. Participating in a post-lecture survey on the Youngê¨ Story allows you to earn attendance recognition, accumulate 13 Youngê¨ Story mileage, and print a participation certificate in the Youngê¨ Story's private non-curricular application details section.
The global etiquette program provides a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural nuances of different countries, particularly relevant as you go abroad. Therefore, the Dankook Herald encourages Dankookians to embrace this opportunity to cultivate respect and consideration for diverse cultures, both during their travels and in their interactions with foreigners.
