Recently, positive changes have been made at Dankook University (DKU). This is to improve Dankookians’ (Students of DKU) learning environment and prioritize students' well-being.

In the Jukjeon Campus, space development was carried out for Dankookians’ relaxation and freeform learning. Youngê¨ Lounge was built on the 2nd and 5th floors of the Media Center, and desks and chairs were newly arranged in the lobby on the 2nd floor of the Business and Economics Hall. In addition, new benches and pergolas were installed in the old outdoor garden on the 5th floor of Toegye Memorial Central Library. Shin Soo-ho (Senior, Media Contents Major) welcomed the change, saying “We used to have to go down to the café under campus for a break or a meeting, but we don’t have to anymore.”, hoping to continue to have many rest areas in the DKU and to move toward a student-friendly campus. DKU continues its commitment to enhancing facilities. The combination desks, which many students have felt uncomfortable, will be replaced. Starting with the Humanities Hall in the 2023 winter vacation, the desks and chairs of the Business and Economics Hall and the Education Hall will be replaced sequentially. Construction of the new outdoor library and exhibition hall at the Waterfall Park is underway. The outdoor library has two floors, one basement floor, and one ground floor, and the exhibition hall will be built in the form of a wooden path with water space. It is expected to contribute to the improvement of the welfare of Dankookians by increasing learning and rest areas and convenience facilities.

Exciting developments extend to the Cheonan Campus as well. A state-of-the-art fitness center, a collaborative venture between the College of Sports Science and the College of Biohealth Innovation and Convergence, is set to open its doors on October 31. This interdisciplinary research facility aims to educate students about athletic abilities, employing data-based functional assessments and encouraging interdisciplinary research. Notably, all students can utilize this cutting-edge facility. The Cheonan Campus is revitalizing its spaces, beginning with replacing desks in the lobby of Yulgok Memorial Library. This popular study space has been redesigned to provide students with a more comfortable environment. Aging desks and chairs in the lobby of the first floor of the Student Union are also being replaced, accompanied by new lighting, TV screens, and speakers to elevate the educational experience for students.

DKU is not just evolving as an institution of learning but is actively fostering a vibrant and student-centric campus experience. These renovations underscore DKU's dedication to providing a conducive academic and personal growth environment that nurtures academic excellence and personal growth. Embrace the changes and seize the opportunities these enhanced spaces offer tailored just for you!
